Taco Bell Nacho Fries

Ingredients:
2 large russet potatoes
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Potatoes:

Peel the russet potatoes (optional) and cut them into thin fries, about 1/4-inch thick. Rinse the cut fries under cold water to remove excess starch, and then pat them dry with a paper towel.

2. Season the Fries:

In a large bowl, toss the fries with vegetable oil, ensuring they are well-coated.

In a separate small bowl, mix together garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the fries and toss until the fries are evenly coated.

3. Bake or Fry the Fries:

Option 1 (Baking): Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fries are golden and crispy.

Option 2 (Frying): Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 375°F (190°C). Fry the seasoned fries in batches for about 3-4 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.

4. Prepare the Cheese Sauce:

Heat the nacho cheese sauce in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally until it is warm and smooth.

5. Assemble the Nacho Fries:

Once the fries are cooked, place them on a serving plate or tray.

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the fries while they’re still hot so the cheese begins to melt.

Drizzle the warm nacho cheese sauce over the fries.

6. Serve and Enjoy:

Serve the Nacho Fries immediately with any optional toppings like sour cream, guacamole, or salsa, if desired.
