Philly Steak Cheese Fries
Ingredients:
1 lb frozen French fries (or homemade)
1/2 lb ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 small onion, sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Cheese Sauce:
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp flour
1 cup milk
1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella (or mix with Cheddar for richness)
Pinch of salt
👨🍳 Directions:
1. Cook the Fries:
Prepare fries according to package directions or bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden and crispy.
2. Cook the Steak and Veggies:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add sliced onion and bell pepper. Sauté until softened.
Push to the side, then add steak. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Cook until browned (3–5 minutes), then mix with peppers and onions. Set aside.
3. Make the Cheese Sauce:
In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until thickened (about 3–5 minutes).
Stir in shredded cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt.
4. Assemble:
Place hot fries on a serving platter.
Top with steak, peppers, and onions.
Drizzle generously with cheese sauce.
Serve immediately!
