Oyster Sauce Beef & Onion Stir-Fry
Ingredients
For the Marinade
450 g beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp cornstarch
For the Stir-Fry
2 medium onions, thinly sliced
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce (optional, for color)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp cooking oil (vegetable or peanut oil)
¼ cup water or beef broth
½ tsp sugar (optional, balances flavors)
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
1. Marinate the Beef
In a bowl, mix beef slices with soy sauce and cornstarch.
Let rest for 15–20 minutes to tenderize.
2. Cook the Beef
Heat a wok or skillet over high heat, add oil.
Stir-fry beef quickly (about 2–3 minutes) until browned but not overcooked. Remove and set aside.
3. Cook the Onions
In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed.
Stir-fry onions until soft and lightly caramelized (about 3–4 minutes).
Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
4. Combine & Sauce
Return beef to the pan.
Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, dark soy sauce (if using), water/broth, and sugar.
Toss everything together until beef and onions are well coated and heated through.
5. Finish & Serve
Sprinkle with black pepper and garnish with green onions.
Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
