Chocolate Skull Cake (Base)

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

½ cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

2 eggs

½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil

1 cup (240ml) buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup (120ml) hot water or hot coffee (enhances chocolate flavor)

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease your skull cake pan well.

2. In a bowl, whisk all dry ingredients together.

3. Add eggs, oil, buttermilk, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

4. Gradually mix in the hot water or coffee. Batter will be thin — that’s okay.

5. Pour into the skull pan. Don’t overfill — leave 1 inch from the top.

6. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

7. Let cool completely in the pan, then gently unmold onto a wire rack.
