Smoked Cajun Burgers with Cheese
Ingredients
For the Cajun Sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
½ lemon, juiced
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
For the Burgers:
2 pounds ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon olive oil
4–6 burger buns
4–6 slices cheddar or pepper jack cheese
Lettuce, tomato, pickles (optional for topping)

Instructions
1. Make the Cajun Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
2. Prepare the Burger Patties
In a large bowl, combine ground beef with Cajun seasoning, salt, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
Form into 4–6 patties (depending on preferred size).
3. Smoke/Grill the Burgers
Preheat smoker or grill to 225°F (107°C).
Place patties on the smoker and cook for about 45–60 minutes, until they reach an internal temperature of 150°F (65°C).
Increase heat or move burgers to direct flame to sear and bring internal temp to 160°F (71°C).
4. Add Cheese
In the last 2 minutes of cooking, place a slice of cheese over each patty.
Cover to let it melt perfectly.
5. Assemble the Burgers
Toast burger buns lightly.
Spread Cajun sauce on the buns, then layer with lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheesy smoked patty, and more sauce if desired.
